With 80 percent of the population now expected to live in cities, up from 50 percent currently, now is the time to
rethink intelligent intensification to make our cities more livable, healthy, and sustainable. The opportunity for
human-scale development is clearly in the void between single-family housing and mid-rise development, the Missing Middle.
Not every site warrants this lower density, especially near mass transit, but in conjunction with high density, we can create
balance and opportunity for housing where none currently exists. We are committed to championing Missing Middle
development opportunities as they are not only crucial for the health of our City but can make good business sense.
